Tutorial: The Easiest Way to Create an Ethereum Wallet

In order to receive and store your Ockel Tokens (OKL) you will need an ERC-20 compatible Ethereum wallet. We recommend using the Eidoo wallet app. This is a highly secure and easy application to receive, store and manage your OKL in one single app on your smartphone, tablet or PC. You can use this wallet without providing any personal information. In this tutorial we guide you through the installation process.

PLEASE NOTE: The Eidoo app is compatible with all Android and iOS smartphones, Windows 10, Mac OS and even Linux. The steps we describe in this tutorial are applicable for the iOS installation of the Eidoo App.

Step 1: First Things First, Download the Eidoo App

Step 2: Getting Started

After downloading the app, you are asked to follow a wizard which explains how the Eidoo wallet works. Please take the time to read the information and complete the wizard.

Step 3: Creating your ERC-20 compatible Ethereum wallet

After completing the wizard, tap on “Create a new Wallet” to create a new ERC-20 compatible Ethereum wallet. Carefully read the Terms and Conditions and click on “I agree, go next”.

Step 4: Set a Password

Set up a password to secure your  Eidoo wallet. Follow the instructions as shown in the app.

WARNING: Please save your password carefully as you won’t be able to reset or recover your password! Also, Ockel Computers is not able to recover your password for you.

Step 5: Backup Your Ethereum Wallet

IMPORTANT! After setting up a password, you’ll also need to set up a backup code for your wallet. With the backup code you can regain access to your wallet in case you forget your password or lose the device you’re registering your wallet on.

To create a backup, you’ll need to write down a series of 12 words in the order as shown on a sheet of paper or in a text document. We suggest to store the 12-word set somewhere safe, please do not keep this backup phrase on your device.

To verify you have written the correct 12-word set, you’ll be asked to repeat the backup code to complete the application registration process.

WARNING: Please save your backup code carefully as you won’t be able to reset or recover your backup code! Please note that Ockel Computers is not able to recover the backup code for you.

Step 6: Force Token Enrollment

By default, the Eidoo wallet is not able to receive and store OKL. You will need to manually add the Ockel Token (OKL) by adding our token contract address.

  1. Go to “More” and select “Force Token Enrollment”.
  2. Submit the token contract address of the Ockel Token (OKL): 0x96CBC8BF2474Bb28DC54e4137aAe091880fF4893.
  3. Notice that the Ockel Token (OKL) is now added to your assets.

Step 7: You Are All Set!

Congratulations, you now have your own ERC-20 compatible Ethereum wallet! You can find your Ethereum address by following these steps:

  1. Click on the first icon in the menu below, this is called “Your Assets”.
  2. Click on “OKL Ockel Token”.
  3. If you click on “deposit”, you will see a QR code and a long combination of letters and numbers that starts with an “0x” prefix. This combination is your Ethereum address. You will need this address to request whitelisting and receive your OKL.

NOTE: Do you have a purchase code? Claim your OKL here!
